I know I was ok with the vapor issue, just trying to be as optimal as possible. (maybe too picky) Energy consumption is going to be an issue with heating the ovens and the duration of vacuum pumping. This will be a mobile lab and will be running off batteries through an inverter.Surface finish will be more important than the alloy. I have seen people use mechanically polished stainless for vacuum, this is wrong. You are better off not worrying about the overall roughness and electroplishing to remove microscopic features.
